Class Descriptions

Arts and Crafts with Zeze Cole - $235 (grade TK-4)
Each week students will explore a new arts and crafts project designed to bring out their creative and artistic spirit. These will be fun, simple projects and activities that they can bring home and share with the family. The class will be taught by long time teacher and former preschool director Zeze Cole.

Day/Time: Wednesdays 2:00 - 3:30 pm
Dates: Feb 8 to April 19 , no class on 4/4 (10 classes)

Chess With The Berkeley Chess School - $172  (grades 1-5)
Immerse yourself in the exciting world of chess! Chess is fun and can be learned quickly and easily! Studies have found that chess helps improve test results in reading, science, and math, and produces growth in critical cognitive skills. Beyond academia, chess influences social behavior including self esteem, respect for others, patience, and good sportsmanship. And did we mention: it’s FUN!

Day/Time: Mondays 3:30 - 4:30 pm
Dates:  Feb 6 to April 24, no class on 2/20, 3/20 & 4/3 (9 classes)

Cooking: All time favorites and desserts with Ms. Nancy - $410 includes food and supplies (grades 2-5)
In this 9 week class your junior chef will learn to prepare delicious dishes that are prepared from simple ingredients from your kitchen. To sweeten up the class, we will make some wonderful desserts as well. Menu option possibilities include sushi, tacos, pasta, cookies, strudels and cakes!  Included in the class and if time allows, crafts and food related games will round out the hour.  Stimulating our taste buds, as well as our minds is a sure winner. Each child will take home a personalized recipe book at the end of class.
**This is a nut-free class.   Please note, unable to accommodate gluten-free and dairy free.

MCVT Glee Club - $ 305 (grade TK-5)
If you are obsessed with singing like we are and Come Alive when you hear certain songs...Let It Go! and join Glee Club!  Glee Club is a weekly ensemble performance class where students sing, learn fun dance moves and staging while singing their hearts out to their favorite songs.  Students will also have the chance to create their own show stopping choreography, make props and musical instruments, sing solos, and play games in a safe and nurturing environment with their friends.

The Science of Minecraft - $240  (grades 2-5)

In this Minecraft themed STEAM class, students will learn the fundamentals of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math as they exist in the Minecraft realm. Children will work on different experiments and activities each week that challenges their mind to think outside the box and bring Minecraft off the screen and into the real world. Lots of take-home projects! From physics to chemistry to engineering, kids will learn what makes their favorite game go!

Skyhawks After-School Sports Medley (Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, Track & Field) - $ 200 (grades TK-1 or grades 2-5)
This multi-sport program combines Baseball, Basketball, Soccer and Track & Field into one fun-filled program. Through interactive drills and skill-based games, participants gain the skills, confidence, and passion to take the next step in their athletic development. Skyhawks staff provide a safe and positive environment where young athletes can learn the essential skills, rules, and strategies of each sport. Your child will leave with new skills, new friends, and a new love for sports! All participants receive a Skyhawks T-Shirt and Award Medal.

Soccer - $240  (grades TK-3)
Local soccer coach Stefan Clemens welcomes Sleepy Hollow students to join the After School Spring Soccer clinics 2023. Stefan has over 15 years of experience coaching soccer in the Lamorinda and Bay Area. Stefan is currently the head coach for the Campolindo Boys Varsity Soccer team in Moraga. He also runs year round local soccer camps (www.soccerdays.com) and private soccer training (www.doublescissors.com) for all ages and levels. Stefan coached youth soccer for Lamorinda Soccer Club from 2009-2017. Stefan also coached collegiate soccer at the DI, DII, and JC levels from 2015-2020. He was the assistant coach for the men's soccer team at Cal Berkeley (2017-2020), Cal State East Bay in Hayward (2015-2016), and Las Positas College in Livermore (2016-2017). Stefan provides this after school soccer class for girls and boys TK - 3trd grade (ages 4-8) at any skill level. Each player will work on their footwork, balance, coordination, ball mastery (touches on the soccer ball), dribbling moves, passing technique, and shooting technique and power. Along with learning the technical aspects of soccer, all players will compete in competitive situations like 1v1 games, 2v2 games, and 3v3 games. At the end of each session, the players will play freely (from 4v4 up to 6v6) to work together as a team, and utilize the moves and techniques they learned earlier in the session. Competing in a fun and safe environment is important for each player's development both on and off the field. This soccer class is designed for players to learn the game of soccer, understand and implement good sportsmanship, and most of all, have fun!

    PLEASE NOTE: Our intention is to run the SH Enrichment to the full extent in the 2022-23 school year but given the uncertainty caused by COVID-19 and potential restrictions enacted by the California Dept. of Public Health or Contra Costa County Public Health Services in response to rising cases, we are subject to change. If Sleepy Hollow Parents’ Club is required to adjust the enrichment program offerings, all families will be notified.
